Farmer’s Market

Summer food is the best! It’s officially harvest time here in Indiana for lovely fruits and veggies such as corn, blueberries, melons, and all things underground like onions, beets, and carrots. And it’s great fun to run into friends.

And I can’t forget my favorite stuff from Two Cookin’ Sisters in Brookston!

My Suburban Utility Bike (S.U.B.) is awesome. I have looked forward to each and every errand I get to run ride with it.

My haul this week included two Indiana musk melons, or as my dad used to say, “Mush-melons.” No, they are not those weenie, anemic cantaloupes. Also Longhouse Farms kettle corn (yum!), some beets (won’t have to fight anyone in the house for those), Two Cookin’ Sisters peanut butter, Strawberry Margarita jam, and blueberries.

I should have brought the tie-downs so I could have hauled a couple of watermelons home. Next week!
